text as a verb
Text is a noun. Message is a noun. Message can also be used as a verb: message, messaging, messaged. Dictionaries have yet to recognize text as a verb. But, if it were to be used as a verb, should it not be: text, texting, texted? If so, why does everyone say, “tex’d,” as in, “I tex’d him earlier.” Shouldn’t you say, “I texted him earlier?”
It may sound silly to you, but that may be because you’re so used to hearing it the wrong way ![]()
